Basketball Recap: Northwestern Area Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bennett County last Thursday, Northwestern Area came back down to earth. The Northwestern Area Wildcats took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warner Monarchs on Saturday. The Wildcats lost against the Monarchs in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 79-49 score last time.

Northwestern Area's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Warner, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Northwestern Area Wildcats face off against the Ipswich Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwestern Area is facing Ipswich at the right time seeing as Ipswich is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Warner, they will square off against Groton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
