Baseball Game Preview: Eagle's View Warriors vs. Westside Wolverines

The Eagle's View Warriors will face off against the Westside Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Eagle's View will be strutting in after a victory while Westside will be coming in after a defeat.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Eagle's View and First Coast Christian, and Eagle's View kept the tradition alive. Eagle's View's pitcher stepped up to hand First Coast Christian a 16-0 shutout on Thursday.

Lukas Presely tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Eagle's View: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Nathan La Rosa was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan De Leon, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Westside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-5 to Andrew Jackson.

Eagle's View has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything went Eagle's View's way against Westside when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Eagle's View made off with a 26-1 win. Will Eagle's View repeat their success, or does Westside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
