Basketball Game Preview: Wethersfield Flying Geese vs. Knoxville Blue Bullets

Wethersfield and Knoxville are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Wethersfield Flying Geese will square off against the Knoxville Blue Bullets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Wednesday, Wethersfield came up short against Midland and fell 56-45. The Flying Geese have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Knoxville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 74-33 loss at the hands of Orion. While losing is never fun, the Blue Bullets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 756th, while the Chargers are ranked 179th).

Knoxville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Wethersfield, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Everything went Wethersfield's way against Knoxville when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Wethersfield made off with a 75-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wethersfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
