Basketball Game Preview: Poway Titans vs. Sage Creek Bobcats + Official Tickets

The Poway Titans will head out to square off against the Sage Creek Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Poway's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.

Poway is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing El Capitan: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Titans blew the Vaqueros out of the water with a 71-29 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-15.

Sage Creek hadn't beaten Del Norte on the road since January 9, 2017 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Bobcats came out on top against the Nighthawks by a score of 56-48.

Sage Creek's win came from a few key players Poway will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jordan Barnhart, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Jahries, who had 19 points.

Sage Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Poway has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points over those games. As for Sage Creek, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Poway beat Sage Creek 66-57 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bobcats' Elijah Stephens, who shot 81% from the field en route to 36 points and eight boards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Titans to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
