Football Recap: St. Anthony Takes a Loss

St. Anthony extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were beaten by the Crespi Celts 42-6. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

As for Crespi, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 25 points or more this season.

Chase Curren had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 198 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 79 yards and one score on only five carries. Those 79 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Howard, who picked up 95 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Anthony will take on Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Crespi, they will face off against La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Celts will be up against the Lancers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
