Basketball Recap: Cowan Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Cowan needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Savannah Hall. The Cowan Blackhawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-29 victory over the Hagerstown Tigers on Thursday thanks in part to Hall, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mackenzee Johnson, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Avery Blunk, who put up six points.

Cowan's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8. As for Hagerstown, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Cowan will venture away from home to square off against Blue River Valley at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. As for Hagerstown, they will host Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
