Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Regional Panthers vs. Fox Chapel Foxes

The Franklin Regional Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Fox Chapel Foxes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin Regional is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Franklin Regional challenged D'Evelyn on Monday. Franklin Regional walked away with a 10-7 win over D'Evelyn. Ten seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

NJ Ramchandran was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Williams, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Fox Chapel took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against Norwin by a score of 7-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Foxes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Blake Krushinski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Krushinski was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Antonio LeDonne, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Franklin Regional's record is now 3-0. As for Fox Chapel, their record is now 1-0.

Franklin Regional couldn't quite finish off Fox Chapel in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can Franklin Regional avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
