Football Recap: Clovis East Has No Trouble Against Sanger

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Clovis East on Friday. Everything went their way against the Sanger Apaches as they made off with a 29-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Apaches: they've now won five in a row.

Jamie Spurgeon was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 84 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries, and also threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Clovis East's defense and their four sacks. Sanger's QB won't forget Jaiden McDermott anytime soon given he sacked him twice. McDermott is crushing it when it comes to sacks: he's posted at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
