Recap: Laurel Locomotives vs. Lockwood LIONS
The Laurel Locomotives had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They walked away with a 27-15 victory over Lockwood. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Laurel also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2022.
Despite the loss, Lockwood still got an impressive performance from Tyce Casterline, who rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
Laurel's victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.1 points per game. As for Lockwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Laurel will be playing in front of their home fans against Dawson County at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Montana (Dawson County is ranked 30th, while Laurel is ranked 15th). As for Lockwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Havre at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
