Football Recap: Eastlake Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Eastlake's offense. They were beaten by the Point Loma Pointers 49-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Pointers are ranked 135th).

Point Loma got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryder Watson out in front who threw for 85 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. What's more, Watson racked up 148.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Ryan Patterson did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 52 receiving yards.

Eastlake is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Point Loma, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Eastlake will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Vista at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Point Loma, they will be playing at home against La Jolla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pointers will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
