Basketball Game Preview: Kewanee Boilermakers vs. Oregon Hawks

The Kewanee Boilermakers will head out to challenge the Oregon Hawks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oregon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Kewanee, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Kewanee beat Erie-Prophetstown 35-22.

Meanwhile, Oregon played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 54-28 to Dixon. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Dukes & Duchesses are ranked 40th).

Oregon now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Kewanee, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Kewanee ended up a good deal behind Oregon in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, losing 40-26. Can Kewanee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
