Football Game Preview: Hamburg Lions vs. Warren Lumberjacks

Hamburg hasn't had much luck against Warren recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. Hamburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Warren likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hamburg duked it out with Central on Friday. The Lions blew past the Cougars 57-34. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Warren beat Monticello 27-23 on Friday. The 27-point effort marked the Lumberjacks' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Warren's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Hamburg, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-1.

Hamburg suffered a grim 47-21 defeat to Warren in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lions were down 33-7.
