Basketball Recap: New Prairie's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

New Prairie can finally bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They managed a 51-45 win over the Oregon-Davis Bobcats. The Cougars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

New Prairie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Wiginton led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Wiginton a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jagger Daniels, who went 7 of 14 en route to 16 points.

New Prairie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matches.

New Prairie's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Oregon-Davis, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
