South Carroll entered their tilt with Winters Mill on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Cavaliers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20, 25-16.

South Carroll's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylie Nelson, who had 19 assists and two aces.

Nelson wasn't the only good servers: South Carroll was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive matches.

South Carroll's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Winters Mill, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Carroll will face off against Francis Scott Key at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winters Mill, they will take on Catonsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
