Volleyball Recap: Elkton/Lake Benton Takes a Loss

Elkton/Lake Benton lost against Garretson back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Elks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Dragons. The Elks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Elkton/Lake Benton was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Garretson work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 29-27, 25-21, 21-25, 25-21.

Garretson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brielle Weir led the charge by getting seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces Weir has posted since back in September. Bryn Stiefvater was another key player, getting ten digs and ten assists.

Elkton/Lake Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Garretson, they moved to 3-14 with that win, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkton/Lake Benton will host Deubrook at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Garretson, they will be playing at home against Canton at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
