Baseball Recap: Kenedy Takes a Loss

Kenedy had taken Port Aransas down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Lions lost 9-3 to the Marlins. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ryder Hartsfield was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, David Salas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Daniel Pena was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Kenedy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Port Aransas, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Kenedy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-4 victory against Yorktown on the 17th. As for Port Aransas, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-5 loss against Refugio on the 17th.
