Harker Heights entered their tilt with Elgin on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The Knights not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 19th (when they won 10-0).
Cannon Culp was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Corey McMillan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Harker Heights' win bumped their record up to 7-2-2. As for Elgin, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-6.
Looking ahead, Harker Heights will venture away from home to challenge Wylie at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elgin, they will take on Glen Rose in a tournament on Thursday.
