Softball Recap: Corsicana Comes Up Short

If Corsicana was riding high fresh off their 17-2 takedown of Kaufman last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Corsicana Tigers came up short against the Midlothian Panthers on Tuesday, falling 18-5. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Corsicana's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-1. As for Midlothian, they pushed their record up to 12-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Corsicana will venture away from home to square off against Red Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corsicana has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Midlothian, they will welcome Crandall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Midlothian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
