Basketball Recap: Ridgedale Comes Up Short

After flying high against Calvary Christian last Saturday, Ridgedale came back down to earth. The Ridgedale Rockets took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Upper Scioto Valley Rams on Thursday. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Upper Scioto Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Raegan Castle, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points. Layla Hunsicker was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals.

Ridgedale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Upper Scioto Valley, they moved to 5-10 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Ridgedale will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Elgin at 5:00 p.m. Elgin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season. As for Upper Scioto Valley, they are taking a road trip to take on Arlington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Upper Scioto Valley is facing Arlington at the right time seeing as Arlington is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
