Basketball Recap: Chelsea Leggat Key Part of Team Effort in Centurions Win

There's no place like home for Cicero Prep Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-39 win over the Williams Vikings on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Centurions have posted since November 21, 2024.

Cicero Prep Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chelsea Leggat, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. That's the most points Leggat has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Weaver, who scored 11 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Cicero Prep Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points over those games. As for Williams, they dropped their record down to 10-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Cicero Prep Academy will head out to square off against Baboquivari at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Williams does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
