Basketball Recap: Bennett Drops Season-High Score on Pocomoke

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bennett). They came out on top against the Pocomoke Warriors by a score of 83-76 on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Clippers, who have now won eight games in a row.

Zakai Smullen was his usual excellent self, putting up 26 points. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Brittingham, who posted 15 points.

Pocomoke lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was LAMARQUIS DOUGLAS, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Those 15 points gave him a new career-high. ZYMIERE WALKER was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took racking up 10 points.

Bennett's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. As for Pocomoke, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Bennett has already played their next game (against Crisfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Pocomoke, they will be playing at home against Cambridge-South Dorchester at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th.
