Basketball Recap: Somerset Prep Comes Up Short

Somerset Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 62-42 to the Elite Academy Eagles . Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Somerset Prep this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-40 back in December of 2024.

Elite Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ladainian Brooks, who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points and eight boards. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Levi Brown, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points.

Somerset Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Elite Academy, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Somerset Prep will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Spanish River at 7:00 p.m. Somerset Prep is facing Spanish River at the right time seeing as Spanish River is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Elite Academy, they will head out to take on King's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
