Basketball Recap: Palmyra Triumphs

Palmyra won the last time they faced Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, and Harrison Boyte did his part to make sure it happened again. The Palmyra Panthers walked away with a 53-46 victory over the Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Titans on Friday thanks to Boyte, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 27 points. He has become a key player for Palmyra: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 20 points, but 3-16 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Ryan Mayo, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave him a new career-high.

Palmyra's win bumped their record up to 5-17. As for Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers challenge the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
