Softball Recap: Purchase Line Red Dragons vs. River Valley Panthers

Purchase Line had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 7-5 to make it four. They fell just short of the River Valley Panthers by a score of 5-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Wednesday.

Rylee Adams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

As for River Valley, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 7-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average this season.

On River Valley's side, Sara Bollinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. Bollinger has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Maddie Twinchek was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilian Buckles, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Coming up, Purchase Line will host Curwensville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for River Valley, they will head out to square off against Central Cambria at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
