Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Comes Up Short

Providence Classical lost to Riverside Christian Academy back in October of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Providence Classical took a 60-42 bruising from Riverside Christian Academy. Providence Classical has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Riverside Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella McMeen, who posted 16 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks. Those three blocks gave McMeen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzy McAlister, who earned 11 points and seven steals.

Providence Classical's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Riverside Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Providence Classical will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Glen Iris Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on February 3. As for Riverside Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-22 win against St. Andrews-Sewanee on the 23rd.
