Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is South Florence's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

South Florence and Blythewood pushed the score to 13-7 the last time they played Blythewood, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Bruins' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bengals a 2-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-7 on Tuesday.

The result came thanks to Payton Perry's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, South Florence's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ryleigh Hux, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

South Florence has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Blythewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-7.

As of now, neither South Florence nor the Bengals have any future games scheduled.
