Softball Game Preview: Greeneview Rams vs. Catholic Central Irish

For the second straight game, Greeneview will face off against Catholic Central. The Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Irish at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Greeneview is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 26-1 margin over Catholic Central on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Irish: they've now won four in a row.

Gabbie Burkett made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Mya Simpson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Gabby Sutton was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one triple.

Catholic Central is on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. As for Greeneview, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
