Childress has gone 9-1 against Tulia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Childress is taking a road trip to square off against Tulia at 4:30 p.m. Childress has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Childress is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Bushland just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Tulia hadn't done well against River Road recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Tulia was the clear victor by a 17-8 margin over River Road. Considering the Hornets have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tulia got a massive performance out of Jarvis Pestrana, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5. Pestrana is becoming a predictor of Tulia's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-5-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Zach Trevino, who scored four runs while going 3-for-5.

Pestrana wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Tulia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They got five more hits than River Road's also-impressive total of 11.

The victory made it two in a row for Tulia and bumps their season record up to 12-5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Childress, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-1.

Childress was able to grind out a solid victory over Tulia when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Childress since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
