Softball Recap: Madison Highland Prep Comes Up Short

Madison Highland Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 23-3 to the San Simon Longhorns.

Madelyn Burboa was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Anahi Baltazar Arrelendo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Madison Highland Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for San Simon, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison Highland Prep will venture away from home to take on Camp Verde at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for San Simon, they will take on St. David at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. San Simon's pitchers better be ready for this one: St. David has averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
