Montverde Academy and Oak Hill Academy lead list of 236 schools that have earned a spot in the final rankings over the past 16 years.

MaxPreps crowned its first high school basketball national champion in 2009 after Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) capped a 33-0 season by defeating previous No. 1 Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) 74-66 in the ESPN Rise National High School Invitational championship game. Since that time, 236 schools in 38 states have etched their place in history by earning a spot in the final MaxPreps Top 25 rankings. See the complete list below.

Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) and Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) lead the way when it comes to MaxPreps Top 25 finishes, as each program has notched 14 in 16 years. The Warriors and Eagles have combined for 25 top 10 finishes over the past 16 years. Oak Hill Academy won the national title in 2012, while Montverde Academy won national titles in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2024.

The perennial powerhouse programs are joined by Findlay Prep (Henderson. Nev.) as the only teams with 10 or more appearances in the final national rankings.

Texas leads the way with the most different schools represented on the list with 23. California is not far behind with 19 and Florida (18), North Carolina (17), Georgia (13), Ohio (10) and Pennsylvania (10) are the only other states with double digits.
