Last Friday, Young Americans Christian faced Central Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Young Americans Christian secured a 36-30 W over Central Christian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Young Americans Christian.
Meanwhile, Johnson Ferry Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 27-23 to Westminster Christian Academy.
Despite the loss, Johnson Ferry Christian Academy had strong showings from Lucas Scheffer, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and Austin Ahmad, who picked up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Ahmad was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 60 yards.
Young Americans Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
