Basketball Recap: Mountain Valley Comes Up Short

Mountain Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Poland Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Falcons have suffered since December 8, 2023.

Mountain Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Poland, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Mountain Valley Falcons duke it out with the Lincoln Academy Eagles at 12:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Poland, they will take on North Yarmouth Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poland is facing North Yarmouth Academy at the right time seeing as North Yarmouth Academy is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
