Robert "RJ" Waddell commands the offense for Sundevils win

Recap: Eldorado Sundevils vs. Moapa Valley Pirates

After losing to the Moapa Valley Pirates the last time they met, the Eldorado Sundevils decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Eldorado came out on top against Moapa Valley by a score of 64-53 on Wednesday. That's two games straight that Eldorado has won by exactly 11 points.

Eldorado got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Robert "RJ" Waddell out in front who scored 20 points along with five steals. Waddell is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 17 games he's played. Kamarion Durant was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five steals.

Despite the defeat, Moapa Valley had strong showings from Brigham Whitmore, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Bryson Walker, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Bunker, who scored eight points.

Even though they lost, Moapa Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eldorado only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Eldorado is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season. As for Moapa Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17-1.

Eldorado won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chaparral at 6:30 p.m. on February 8th. Chaparral is coming into the contest with four straight losses at home, meaning Eldorado will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Moapa Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against The Meadows School at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Meadows School will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Moapa Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
