Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Grove Spartans vs. McAdory Yellowjackets

The Pleasant Grove Spartans will square off against the McAdory Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Pleasant Grove's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while McAdory has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Thursday, everything went Pleasant Grove's way against Wenonah as Pleasant Grove made off with a 21-3 victory. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

Zion Barney was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jordan Walker, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3.

Pleasant Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .871. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, McAdory came up short against Mortimer Jordan on Wednesday and fell 9-5.

McAdory's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Pleasant Grove, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Pleasant Grove couldn't quite get it done against McAdory when the teams last played back in March of 2019 as they fell 9-5. Can Pleasant Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
