Volleyball Recap: Valley Center Takes a Loss

Valley Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the El Camino Wildcats. If the Jaguars were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Valley Center was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23, 25-19.

El Camino can attribute much of their success to RJ Gabut-Rivas, who had 21 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Pressley, who had seven digs and three aces.

Valley Center's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for El Camino, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-12.

Looking ahead, Valley Center will challenge Calvin Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for El Camino, they will face off against Ramona at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
