Basketball Recap: Tyler Watkins and Connor Yeager Secure Win for Clermont Northeastern

There's no place like home for Clermont Northeastern, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 47-39 victory over the Felicity-Franklin Cardinals on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rockets also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Clermont Northeastern was led to victory by Connor Yeager and Tyler Watkins. Yeager dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds, while Watkins posted 14 points. Yeager has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 29 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Schmidt, who had four points.

Clermont Northeastern pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Felicity-Franklin, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Clermont Northeastern and Felicity-Franklin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Clermont Northeastern (ranked 586th) will meet West Clermont (ranked 215th) at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Felicity-Franklin (ranked 689th) will meet Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool (ranked 283rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
