Basketball Recap: New Auburn Trojans vs. Winter Warriors
After a string of three wins, the New Auburn Trojans's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Winter by a score of 85-82. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (64), New Auburn still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gunnar Greuel, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 17 rebounds. Greuel is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Curtis Thompson was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
New Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Winter, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Prairie Farm the next time they take the court. Winter will host Prairie Farm at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, while New Auburn will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
