While Petersburg's win against Philip Barbour wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Colts 10-8. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won seven in a row.

Kinsley Crites looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ella Markwell was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Karlie DiBenedetto also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Petersburg's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Philip Barbour, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season.

Petersburg will venture away from home to challenge Lincoln at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
