Softball Recap: Peck Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Peck owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Laker Lakers by a score of 5-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Ryleigh Ureel made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Kendra Kosal was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Madisyn Taylor was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.

Peck pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Laker, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Peck will square off against Deckerville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Laker, they will head out to face off against Vassar at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
