Volleyball Recap: Escalon Takes a Loss

Escalon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Orestimba Warriors. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

While Escalon ultimately came up short, they really made Orestimba work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15, 30-28.

Preston Berhorst paced Escalon's offense, picking up 11 kills. Berhorst got some help from Ben Ferreira and his 19 assists. Ferreira was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Escalon's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Orestimba, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8.

Coincidentally, Escalon and Orestimba will both be playing Riverbank the next time they take the court. The Cougars will host the Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
