Volleyball Recap: Pikeview Falls to Independence in First Game of Season

PikeView kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Independence Patriots, falling 3-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

PikeView was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-13, 25-20.

The win made it two in a row for Independence and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

PikeView will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on James Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on September 8. As for Independence, they will square off against Greenbrier East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
