After a string of three wins, St. Pius X's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kearney Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-12, 17-25, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, St. Pius X saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Drew Rupnow had ten digs and one assist. Gianna Termini also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

St. Pius X's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-14-1. As for Kearney, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-10-2.

St. Pius X has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Savannah on the 16th. As for Kearney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Smithville on the 14th.
