Baseball Recap: Clay Panthers vs. Eastern Eagles
Clay was the 5-2 winner over Eastern when they last played one another back in April of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Clay Panthers fell just short of the Eastern Eagles by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. Clay has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brandon Malone was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Malone has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Malone was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
