Softball Recap: Midwest Central/Illini Central Wins Going Away Against Midland

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Richwoods, Midwest Central/Illini Central was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Midland Timberwolves. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won three in a row.

Lexi Wood was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Wood was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Friedrich, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Taylor Keihn also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Midwest Central/Illini Central's record is now 5-14. As for Midland, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-19.

As of now, neither Midwest Central/Illini Central nor the Timberwolves have any future games scheduled.
