Washington County extended the longest winning streak in 2A Region 1 this week by beating Millry, 41-13. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Bulldogs.
Washington County took down the Wildcats 41-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Southern Choctaw's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Danny Napier threw for 92 and three touchdowns and LaBrandon Young had 66 yards receiving. On the ground Quentin Adams chipped in 224 yards. Savon McCoy helped Southern Choctaw's passing attack out by catching three balls for 16 yards.
Southern Choctaw's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Napier has thrown for 517 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Young has 12 catches for 268 yards. Adams leads the league in rushing with 904 yards.
The Indians' Adams is a mere 96 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Sweet Water takes on Chris Wilson's team. At the moment, the Bulldogs are in third, while the Bulldogs are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Sweet Water takes on Washington County. Stacy Luker's team has allowed 65 points this season, while the Bulldogs have given up 80.
Washington County led 2A Region 1 in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on Millry.
