Baseball Recap: Colfax Comes Up Short

The Colfax Vikings didn't have quite enough to beat the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Bulldogs on Thursday and fell 6-5. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Colfax saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Palewitz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Those hits were Palewitz's first of the season. Chase Albricht was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Colfax's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Colfax is set to challenge their familiar foe Boyceville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser will face off against rival Clear Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
