Softball Recap: St. Louis Catholic Wins Going Away Against Lafayette

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Iota, St. Louis Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Lafayette Lions as the St. Louis Catholic Saints made off with a 9-2 victory.

Mattie Fullington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Abby Traub was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.

St. Louis Catholic's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2-1.

St. Louis Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-4 defeat against Rayne on the 8th. As for Lafayette, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-1 loss against Covington on the 8th.
