Softball Recap: Archbishop Murphy Takes a Loss

Archbishop Murphy lost against Cascade back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Archbishop Murphy Wildcats lost 22-10 to the Cascade Bruins.

Carly Madhavan led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Mazzeo, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Archbishop Murphy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cascade, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Archbishop Murphy Wildcats duke it out with Lynden Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cascade, they are taking a road trip to challenge Shorewood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cascade is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
