Baseball Game Preview: Rolling Hills Prep Huskies vs. Santa Ana Valley Falcons

The Rolling Hills Prep Huskies will face off against the Santa Ana Valley Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Rolling Hills Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

In Wednesday's Canine Competition, Rolling Hills Prep didn't have enough. They lost 14-4 to Wiseburn- Da Vinci on Wednesday. The Huskies' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Matthew Moyer put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Moyer was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last six games he's played.

Moyer wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Lopez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Santa Ana Valley came up short against Santiago on Wednesday, falling 23-2. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Santa Ana Valley's record is now 3-11. As for Rolling Hills Prep, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-4-1.

Rolling Hills Prep took their win against Santa Ana Valley in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
