Basketball Recap: DePaul College Prep Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the DePaul College Prep Rams came up short against the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers and fell 63-56. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Chargers are ranked 29th).

Despite the loss, DePaul College Prep still got an impressive performance from Grace Lee, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Lee also posted a 71% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Lucia Trautman was another key player, putting up 13 points and five boards.

DePaul College Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Aurora Central Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.
